Professors teach every class at the University of West Florida. They also pursue innovative research in their academic fields. In fact, you're welcome to ask your favorite professors if you can help. Here are just a few UWF student research projects: - Wave-related coastal changes on the stretch of Pensacola Beach that UWF calls its own
- Soil pollution in recreational areas of Florida
- Effectiveness of mass communication strategies for local businesses and nonprofits
- Janine Velez spent the summer carrying out bioarchaeological research on skeletons from the Late Intermediate Period (1000-1400 AD).
If you're interested in research, you won't have to wait at the University of West Florida. Learn about all the resources provided by the Office of Undergraduate Research. Last year they awarded $300,000 to students for research travel! Sincerely, Katie Condon Director, Office of Undergraduate Admissions |

"I assisted one of my professors with his research on soil sampling. Ecotoxicology has always been of great interest to me, and I continue to do personal research in this subject area." Michael Somerville, 2009, currently working as an Environmental consultant in Belize |
