Diana, We know financing a college education can be challenging for many students and their families. Rice remains committed to meeting the full demonstrated need of all admitted students, and our admission process is need blind for U.S. citizens, permanent residents, DACA students and undocumented students who have lived in the U.S. for an extended period of time. We invite you to learn more about financial assistance and merit scholarships at Rice. Among the highlights you will find: - For families whose total family income is $80,000 or less, Rice will meet 100 percent of demonstrated need without student loans.
- For families whose total family income exceeds $80,000, we will meet 100 percent of demonstrated need, and your student loans will not exceed $10,000 total over your four years here.
- Merit scholarships range from $3,000 to full tuition, and all admitted students are considered for merit-aid. Early Decision applicants are given exclusive consideration for the Lone Star Scholarship—a $10,000 per year award, renewable for four years.
- Students who are admitted Early Decision and who demonstrate need will receive a response about financial aid along with the offer of admission.
Rice's Student Aid Calculator will provide a preliminary estimate of how much financial aid you might receive based on the financial data you enter. We encourage you and your family to use this tool and contact our Office of Financial Aid by email at fina@rice.edu or by phone at 713-348-4958 if you have any questions. As a leading research university with a distinctive commitment to undergraduate education, Rice is one of the best values in higher education today. Invest in your future. Be Decisive. Choose Rice. Sincerely,
Julie M. Browning Dean for Undergraduate Enrollment | | |
