An applicant is much more than a standardized test score. It's with that in mind that we wanted to let you know that American University offers students the opportunity to submit their application without including SAT or ACT scores.

If you would like to apply to American University without submitting standardized test scores as part of your application, you must complete all the following:

• Submit your complete application
• Select "No, do not consider my SAT/ACT score for admission to AU" when responding to the "Preferred testing plan" question
• Submit all supporting documents (including the application fee, counselor recommendation, teacher recommendation, essay and extracurricular activities)
