Hi ,
By the end of tonight, the last little ghosts and superheroes will have collected their candy and headed home.
The porch light goes out. The house settles. And somewhere around the time your head meets the pillow... the knocking starts.
Not at the door. In your mind.
A worry you set aside earlier. A conversation that keeps replaying itself. A list of things you meant to do but left for tomorrow. These are the things that really go bump in the night, and they have a way of keeping us up long after the jack-o'-lanterns go dark.
Let me tell you something I find fascinating.
Sleep isn't one long, dark hallway with a clear-cut start and end.
Researchers describe it as a series of cycles... drifting down through lighter sleep, into dreaming, then into deep healing rest and back again, several times a night.
When those cycles run undisturbed, the brain and body repair themselves, the day’s memories are consolidated to long-term storage, and toxins are flushed out.
And this year, the night after Halloween comes with a treat. Daylight saving time ends early Sunday morning, so everyone has an additional hour of slumber.
So what if you spent that hour sleeping more deeply than you have in a long while?
That brings me to something I think you're going to love.
