Dear Diana:
Boston University students are committed to improving the world around them. That's why BU sponsors dozens of community service programs each year.
Take the First-Year Student Outreach Project (FYSOP) for example. Before classes even begin, you can volunteer in one of 10 focus areas. Pick vegetables at a sustainable local farm or play memory games with elders at a senior center, the choice is yours.
Not only that, but as a BU student you can also participate in one of our Alternative Service Break (ASB) programs. Each year, more than 400 students volunteer at 40 sites across the U.S.
- Join a cultural exchange and home repair project in a Cherokee community in Oklahoma
- Serve dinner to homeless LGBTQ youth in Detroit
- Work at a children's retreat in Texas, helping kids with serious illnesses enjoy the great outdoors
Check out more of the ways BU students are giving back. If you're ready to be a part of our engaged community, apply today.
Best wishes,
John C. McEachern Director of Admissions
