College Tasks to Finish for a Happy Holiday Season
Thursday, December 1, 2016
| Hello Diana! It may seem surprising to you that you are halfway through your final year of high school. We wish you luck and hope you will be able find some much deserved rest during your December break. Before you relax, however, be sure that: - Applications with early January deadlines are complete, including teacher and counselor recommendations, and that you have requested a transcript be sent from your guidance office.
- You have requested that all standardized test scores be sent to each of your colleges.
- You and your parents/guardians have filed the FAFSA if you are planning to apply for financial aid. The sooner it is completed; the sooner colleges will be able to determine your eligibility for aid. You can find step-by-step instructions on their website.
- If you are applying to private colleges or universities, check to see if they require the CSS Profile in addition to the FAFSA. You can always call the financial aid offices at each college to which you are applying if you have any questions at all about aid.
- You have completed any appropriate scholarship forms.
- If you are accepted to a college with a binding early decision plan, be sure to read all acceptance materials carefully and withdraw any other applications if you already filed them.
