Dear Valued Student, Given the upcoming application deadline of January 2, we would like to invite you to view Cornell's School of Industrial and Labor Relations (ILR) Information Session and Application Workshop. During this session, ILR's Director of Admissions shared tips on the messages that should and should not be included in essays, the best ways to highlight extracurricular activities, and the role of standardized tests and grades in the selection process. The webinar also includes information on the many unique opportunities available to ILR students, including the ability to: - Study the topics they care about: Whether you are passionate about starting or leading a business, analyzing the impact of globalization and trade on communities and nations, improving access to healthcare and education, or working for a more just and equitable society, you will find classes at ILR to help you achieve your goals.
- Learn to lead: Through courses like Conflict Resolution, Group Dynamics, Organizational Change and Consulting, Leadership, Argumentation and Debate, and Managing for Social Impact, ILR students explore the social science aspects of leadership and teamwork necessary to impact people, policies, and organizations.
- Explore the world: The variety of opportunities to go abroad at ILR has given our school the highest international experience participation rate at Cornell. Study abroad programs and semester-long internships are available in Europe, South Africa, Australia, China, India, and other international locations.
If you are looking to develop the skills required to negotiate in the courtroom and the board room, to analyze corporate and public policies, and to understand and influence the laws, business practices, and institutions that define our economy and society, then we encourage you to apply to the ILR School at Cornell. We wish you the best of luck as you complete your college applications! Sincerely, ILR Admissions |
