Dear Diana,

A liberal arts education will introduce you to new and challenging ideas, engage your intellect and your intuition, and open up a host of opportunities in varied fields and disciplines. As you consider these exciting possibilities for your future, I wanted to tell you more about the advising resources available exclusively to our Brandeis International Business School (IBS) Scholars.

The Brandeis IBS Career Strategies Center provides individual career counseling and assistance with internship and job searches. Students also benefit from the insights of fellow Brandeisians, including alumni and peer mentors. There is no typical Brandeis student in any field, and graduates of our Brandeis IBS Scholars Program in International Economics and Finance exemplify the diversity of our students’ paths.

Take for example Myra Chaudhary, BA/MA '10, winner of a Brandeis International Business School American Leadership Award, who uses her social media and blogging skills to cultivate dialogue between the United States and Pakistan. She interned at the US Senate and helped to plan an anti-terrorism awareness campaign, beginning with a kick-off concert at the United Nations. Recent IBS alumni include Fulbright Scholars, financial analysts and portfolio managers, economists, and entrepreneurs. Visit the Career Paths website to learn more about how our graduates are using their degrees.

Housed within the rich liberal arts and research opportunities of Brandeis University, the Brandeis IBS Scholars Program will prepare you for a career as a global citizen. If you would like to join this community of students, teachers, and mentors, I encourage you to apply.

Sincerely,

Doug Nevins '11
Assistant Director
