College should offer you incredible leadership opportunities. At Brandeis, these opportunities begin with extraordinary access to some of the most elite faculty in the world, but that’s just the start.

Brandeis will foster your potential by putting you in charge. That's why we have more student groups and performances per capita than almost any other institution. You won't just study leadership — you’ll be a leader yourself! Here are just a few ways that you can get involved from day one:

  • The Brandeis Debate Team is ranked number two in the country, and you can debate on the team as a first-year student.
  • While many schools brag that their seniors and graduates can compete for a chance to work in a lab, at Brandeis there are first-year students who are already publishing their research.
  • There are more than 100 theater and dance performances every year, and given our small class size, you are likely to find yourself in a starring or directing role — or both! — even in your first year.
  • You can help organize events that feature well-known musicians. Fun, Icona Pop, Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar, Girl Talk and Passion Pit are among the many musical acts to participate in recent student-run shows on campus.

Even our orientation is entirely run by students. That's what happens when truly exceptional students like you join a truly collaborative community — engagement and opportunity reach an entirely different level!
