Become an Anteater
Tuesday, October 11, 2016
| UCI students have a long tradition of bold and pioneering ideas. That tradition can be traced back to 1965, when two UCI water polo players created one of the most recognizable aspects of campus life - Peter the Anteater, UCI’s ubiquitous and beloved mascot. Now students chant "Zot!", the sound Peter makes when he consumes ants, and are proud to be part of 'Eater Nation. Learn more about how one of the most unusual college mascots came to be: watch here. |
Zot culture permeates campus. At athletic events, students yell “Zot! Zot! Zot!” We even have a special ‘Anteater’ hand signal. |
