One of my friends, who encountered a climate hysteric on Twitter/X, responded with these words and the chart below:
"Reminder that every single euro flagellating himself over the Climate Crisis could walk into the sea right now and it wouldn't even make a blip in China's carbon emissions (but it would still be a good idea)."
He added:
"They know this, of course. It's a cheap shot at this point.
"The ascetic climate-religion feeds Europeans' sublimated hunger for relevance. They can't conquer the world, but they can make themselves spiritual protagonists, fasting and praying and immuring themselves for the world's sin."
As it happens, this week on the Tom Woods Show I spoke to the president of the Heartland Institute, James Taylor, on precisely this topic, and whether we're making any progress with the hysterics.
And I just finished writing this month's issue of the Tom Woods Elite Letter, the print newsletter that arrives in your physical mailbox -- this is how you and I make our stand against the relentless digitalization of everything.
An actual piece of reading material you can hold in your hands! Imagine that.
In this issue:
-- Weirdly controversial material, despite being nothing but statistics, about the crime levels of assorted groups of immigrants in Europe, as well as their net financial contribution (or drain) to the societies they join;
-- My single biggest sales fiasco of all time just happened: an offer bombed worse than anything I've ever offered before. Here's what (if anything) I learned from it;
-- It's easy to tell parents "don't send your kids to college"; it's harder to explain what specifically to do instead. Here's a step-by-step plan
-- And more....
Issue goes to the printer tomorrow, so hop on board now to get it:
