Hi Diana! I wanted to tell you a little about why I applied to AU Honors and encourage you to do the same.

I originally applied to AU Honors because of its unique structure of learning with the same group of students throughout my academic career. Many other honors programs I looked at required students to choose from a list of classes that were only offered to the program students. However, these programs were much larger and had little connection from semester to semester. When I found AU Honors, it seemed like something completely different. Now that I've been here for a semester, I realize how true that is.

In AU Honors, we get to develop relationships with students outside of our majors but who share our academic drive. In this way, we are able to grow as a cohort to gain a view of the world from a multidisciplinary perspective. This is fostered as well by our professors who have all spent years enhancing their knowledge within their field. I love just sitting down and talking with them about their specialties.

If you are looking for a unique and engaging honors experience in college, I strongly suggest you consider AU Honors at American University.
