Thank you for your interest in Christopher Newport University. As a reminder, if you plan on applying for financial aid you should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and add CNU's code: 003706.

Our preferred filing deadline is December 15, 2016 and our priority filing deadline is March 1, 2017. The 2017-18 FAFSA is available online now at fafsa.ed.gov and should be completed using your 2015 tax information.

Students who meet the preferred deadline will receive early aid packages. Students who meet the priority deadline will be considered for all types of available aid, contingent upon funding.

The Office of Financial Aid will begin reviewing applications in mid-December and will notify you via the student email address provided in your FAFSA after your admission notification date. We will inform you if additional information is required, or if your award package is available for your review after admission.

Once you are awarded, your package will explain the types and amount of financial aid being offered, as well as the next steps you should take.
