Dear Diana,

We know that the transition from high school to college is exciting yet scary at times. Rutgers University-New Brunswick offers a host of opportunities to help ease your transition. From intimate seminars that allow you to quickly connect with senior faculty to learning communities that provide small family-like residential experiences, Rutgers will quickly feel like home.

Byrne First-Year Seminars: From discussing important issues about climate change to taking a field trip to New York City to see a Broadway show, these 200+ unique, one-credit seminars (limited to 20 students per class) are designed to connect you with our research faculty.

First-Year Interest Group Seminars (FIGS): These small, one-credit seminars are taught by specially-trained peer instructors who help you explore your academic interests and introduce you to key university resources. Delve into a wide range of exciting academic, campus life, and professional development opportunities.

Learning Communities: Want to live with students who share your interests and goals? These sections within our residence halls provide opportunities for you to work and learn together through shared experiences based on academic interests, co-curricular activities, or even common coursework. Themes range from business, health and medicine, law and political science, and psychology, to the arts, cultural studies, philosophy, cinema studies, LGBTQ, and more!

We invite you to learn more by creating your own Rutgers InfoPacket and scheduling your visit today!
