Five reasons to attend college in a swing state

For Kenyon students, this year's presidential election meant learning, debating and voting in a swing state at the center of national attention. Here are five reasons Kenyon was the place to be during election season:

  1. Politically minded students spent fall break in D.C. learning from and networking with alumni who have made careers on Capitol Hill.
  2. The Presidential campaign made frequent stops in Ohio, including an appearance at Kenyon's own athletic center.

  3. Students engaged in civil discourse about the issues that mattered to them and made their voices heard with a vote that counted.
  4. Students of all majors talked with political science professors about the election results and their impact on our lives and our country.
  5. President Sean Decatur encouraged students to "listen respectfully and challenge forcefully" in a community of politically diverse perspectives (and created a Spotify playlist of what he's listening to post-election).
