Consider the advantages of Rice's Early Decision Plan:

  • A higher admittance rate (23%) compared to Rice's overall rate of 15%.
  • Students admitted Early Decision are considered for Rice's merit scholarships, including the Lone Star Scholarship - a  $10,000 per year award, renewable for four years and exclusive to Early Decision applicants.
  • Admission is need blind for all U.S. citizens, permanent residents, DACA students and undocumented students who have lived in the U.S. for an extended period of time. For those eligible for need-based aid, Rice meets 100% of demonstrated need.
  • The greatest advantage of all: if you are admitted under Early Decision, the stress of the college search process is over by mid-December.
