Dear Diana, Did you know that RIT offers an Early Decision Plan? The college admissions process can be very confusing with a variety of application plans available at colleges across the country. The Undergraduate Admissions Office at RIT receives many questions about our Early Decision Plan. One of the first things to know about these Early Decision Plans is that they often differ in practice by institution. Our plan can be described as a "friendly" version of a binding agreement. If you're applying to RIT as a freshman and have identified RIT as your first-choice college, you may want to apply for an early review of your application through our Early Decision Plan. RIT's Early Decision Plan allows you to hear about admission, merit scholarships and financial aid early. Also, if you determine that RIT is not an affordable choice, you may contact our office so we can release you from the Early Decision Plan requirements. Applicants seeking freshmen admission to RIT should follow the deadlines below:
Early Decision Apply for admission by: November 15 File the FAFSA by: December 1 | Regular Decision Apply for admission by: January 15 File the FAFSA by: February 15 |
For more information visit RIT's Early Decision Plan or contact us by calling 585-475-6631 or emailing admissions@rit.edu. Sincerely, Daniel R. Shelley, Ph.D. Associate Vice President & Director of Undergraduate Admissions
