Although we strongly encourage a campus visit, we understand that it isn't always possible to make the trip to Rochester, NY. Our admissions staff and alumni travel to various parts of the country to interview students in their hometowns and to present information sessions about RIT. You can also meet an admissions or alumni representative at area college fairs and selected high schools and community colleges.

While visiting RIT is the best way to get to know the campus, we realize that meeting with an RIT representative in your area may be more convenient for you as a first step.

Off-Campus Information Sessions & Receptions
View information sessions and receptions in your area
High school juniors, seniors, transfer students, and their families are invited to attend an RIT Information Session and Reception at a hotel in your area. The RIT Admissions staff covers topics such as student life, academic programs, the application process, and financial aid. Register online or by calling the Admissions Office at 585-475-6631.

Hometown Interviews
Schedule an interview in your area
RIT is happy to offer admissions interviews for prospective students who are seniors in high school and prospective transfer students in select cities across the country. Interviews are scheduled to last 30 minutes and are hosted by Admission Officers or alumni volunteers. Students should come to the interview prepared to speak about themselves and their interests and have questions about RIT. A personal interview is not required to be considered for admission to the university.
