Dear Diana, You've probably heard of FAFSA, or the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, by now. But did you know that there are changes this year? Here's what you should know: | | Submit your FAFSA earlier. Students will be able to file a 2017-18 FAFSA as early as October 1, 2016. Use earlier income info. Students (and parents) will now be required to report income information from an earlier tax year. For example, students will report their 2015 income information on the 2017â"18 FAFSA. | WHY FILE THE FAFSA? At Saint Leo, 95% of students receive some form of financial aid. Without the FAFSA, you won't have access to the federal loans, grants or work-study programs for which you may be eligible. Remember to include Saint Leo's Federal School Code: 001526 when filing. In order for us to process your FAFSA so you can receive all the financial aid for which you qualify - you must be an admitted student. Haven't applied yet?
