here | | Get excited—your college journey is getting real! The end of junior year is near and you'll be transitioning from search mode to application mode before you know it. These three tips will help set you up for success: - Develop your college list. Now is the time—work with your college counselor to determine which schools match your criteria. Remember it is all about fit: Where can you see yourself being happy? Where can you pursue your interests? Are there options if you decide to change your major? No college will be perfect, but some will meet your needs better than others. Check out what majors Simmons has to offer.
- Visit the colleges on your list. We've said it before and we'll say it again: there's no better way to determine if a school is a good fit for you than visiting campus. Visit the schools on your list and even some that aren't - you may surprise yourself. At Simmons, we offer daily tours and information sessions and can arrange for you to meet professors, have lunch with current students, or sit in on a class. Once you're a senior, you can also schedule an overnight visit to really get a feel for life on campus. Schedule your customized visit today.
- Ask for letters of recommendation. If you think about how many recommendations your teachers and counselors have to write each year, you'll understand why we encourage you to get an early start. Asking during the school year will ensure that your strengths and accomplishments are fresh in their minds. Don't wait until they're in vacation mode over the summer or swamped with recommendation requests in the fall.
