Diana, | Take faculty members engaged in cutting-edge research, add excellent facilities and equipment, and in four years you'll be ready to take on the world. | Build a foundation | Through experiments and detailed observations of the natural world, you'll actively engage in the practice of science. You'll also have firsthand experience working with advanced equipment and instrumentation, collecting and analyzing data, and communicating the results. | Learn to question | After mastering the basics in lower-level courses, you'll apply everything you've learned in research courses by carrying out an original research project. You'll find FSC students publishing their findings in research journals and presenting at national conferences. | Take learning beyond the lab | You'll expand your abilities as a scientist by doing fieldwork and internships in locations close to Lakeland and as far away as Ecuador, Costa Rica, and the Galapagos. | Prepare for the future | By teaching you how science is actually done, you'll be ready to attend the nation's top medical, dental, and veterinary schools such as, Duke, University of Miami, University of Pennsylvania, and Auburn. |
