Undergraduate Admission

Greetings from Loyola Marymount University

Dear Diana,

Greetings from Loyola Marymount University! You should have already received an email from our Assistant Vice Provost for Undergraduate Admission, Matt Fissinger, but I wanted to personally introduce myself to you. My name is Jessica Peña, and I am an Admission Counselor at LMU. One of my primary responsibilities is to organize and execute programs and events that serve the needs of Latina/o high school seniors considering LMU.

As an Admission Counselor, my job is to help you learn all that you need to know about LMU and our application process – and my hope is that this will assist you in making an informed decision with regards to one of the most important choices you may ever make – where you go to college.

Why is LMU different?

LMU is committed to fostering a diverse, academic community rich in opportunities for intellectual engagement and real-world experience. As a preeminent Jesuit university, LMU prepares its students to take their place as leaders in the global community.

LMU is a medium-sized university with an average class size of 21. Our small class sizes allow students direct access to excellent faculty who are committed to fostering an experiential learning environment that compels you to apply your classroom knowledge to serve and impact others. We are proud to offer over 80 majors, minors and pre-professional programs, all in one of the most exciting and diverse cities in the world.

In addition to the challenging learning environment LMU offers both inside and outside the classroom, we have a large and vibrant familia of faculty, staff, alumni and students who provide additional resources and support to ensure that all members of our community thrive academically, socially and professionally. At LMU, we offer a large Latina/o community made up of people that all want to see you succeed and thrive throughout every step of your educational journey, from the admission process through graduation and beyond. Learn more about the Latina/o community at LMU.

I hope you will seriously explore all that LMU has to offer. For additional information, including admission requirements and deadlines, visit our website.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions about the application process or life at LMU. I look forward to working with you. Go Lions!

Sincerely,

Jessica Peña
Admission Counselor
