At Rochester, what you do outside the classroom matters just as much as what you do inside it. Whether it's undergraduate research, a creative endeavor, or starting your own business, pursue a project because you're passionate about it and not just because your professor assigned it. That kind of initiative and excitement is what makes Rochester students different.

In fact, SeQuoia Kemp trained to be a doula, a birthing coach, in her spare time after classes. She is placed with mothers at varying stages in their pregnancies and helps coach them through their births. In addition to working with clients at Strong Hospital near campus, she also worked with a federal program running in her hometown this past summer.
