Innovation & Engineering at Harvard

| | My name is Hunter and I'm a sophomore studying bioengineering at Harvard. What I love most about studying engineering here is that I get to be involved with groundbreaking research while learning directly from world-renowned professors. You see, at the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences we get to study engineering within a liberal arts college, which gives us a way to connect advances in engineering to society's most challenging problems. | I've enjoyed small classes, close collaboration with my professors, and world-class research opportunities. There are also lots of extracurricular clubs focused on helping out engineers and I even have an upperclassman mentor who helps me figure out courses and keeps me posted on fun and interesting events. | There's always so much happening, from groundbreaking medical discoveries to world-changing inventions, and as an undergraduate I have exposure to it all. The computer science program is a big source of support for all things engineering and we often have hack-a-thons and other fun ways to learn outside the classroom. Here, undergraduate students have access to: | ▪ | Concentrations in applied mathematics, bioengineering, computer science, electrical engineering, environmental science and engineering, or mechanical engineering | | ▪ | The Harvard Innovation Lab (the i-lab), designed to foster entrepreneurship and innovation across the Harvard community | | ▪ | An expanding campus with a new Science and Engineering Complex opening in 2020 that will magnify Harvard's capacities in a wide range of engineering fields | | | | | | | | I'm so glad I made the decision to apply to Harvard, and I hope you'll consider coming here to help us engineer the future. | Sincerely, Hunter Richards, Harvard College Class of 2018 | | | | | | 86 Brattle Street, Cambridge, MA 02138 617-495-1551 Harvard College Admissions 617-495-1581 Griffin Financial Aid Office
