Our top memories from 2016
Saturday, December 31, 2016
As we ring in the New Year, the Brandeis Admissions Team finds ourselves reflecting on our community’s many wonderful accomplishments and notable events of this year. These are some of our favorites:
- Ronald D. Liebowitz was inaugurated as Brandeis University's ninth president.
- The Waltham Group, a student-led initiative that has come to define Brandeis’ foundational commitment to social justice, celebrated its 50th anniversary this year.
- In a historic weekend for Brandeis athletics, both soccer teams advanced to the NCAA Division III Final Four—a first team feat for the women’s team, and a return to the stage for the men’s.
- Brandeis neuroscientist Eve Marder '69 was awarded the prestigious Kavli Prize for scientific innovation.
- University Professor Anita Hill and Actor Kerry Washington, who stars on ABC's Scandal alongside Brandeis alumnus Tony Goldwyn, engaged the Brandeis community in a conversation on campus about their involvement in HBO’s film “Confirmation.”
- Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg spoke at the centennial celebration of Louis Brandeis’ nomination to the Supreme Court, praising Justice Brandeis for his commitment to civil rights and advancement of social change.
You, too, could make headlines at Brandeis, but you'll never know unless you apply. There's 1 day left to experience our top memories and more. Apply now.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Walker
Dean of Admissions
